The state legislature yesterday continued considering changes to the Private Option in order for the Medicaid expansion to continue, at least for the remainder of the year, changes that Governor Mike Beebe doesn't necessarily agree with, though he does concede the amendments make the bill more pallatable to some politicians. The Department of Homeland Security announced this morning that hundreds of thousands of undocumented young people, who meet certain criteria, will be provided relief from criminal deportation and allowed to work in the United States. We get reaction from a state immigrant civil rights leader.
More than 1,800 animals, about 36 percent of intakes, were euthanized at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter last year. A group of residents formed “No-Kill Fayetteville” to pressure city administrators to lower that rate.
