Last Thursday, a preliminary hearing was held before Pulaski County Circuit Judge Chris Piazza on a lawsuit filed last summer to strike down an Arkansas constitutional ban on same-sex marriage, approved by seventy-four percent of voters ten years ago. For more than 127 years, Carroll County business has been conducted, as a convenience to citizens, in two courthouses, on either side of the Kings River. But after a county circuit court judge ordered to consolidate the district this year, the Arkansas Supreme Court decided to overturn it. Jacqueline Froelich reports.
