Ahead on this edition of Ozarks…the 2013 Northwest Arkansas Education Report Card has numbers, plenty of numbers, relating to 17 public school districts in Washington and Benton Counties. We'll talk to Gary Ritter, the director of the Office for Education Policy at the University of Arkansas about the report. And the three-person band The Room Outside plays inside the Firmin-Garner Performance Studio. Arkansas has more than 160 freshwater lakes, most of them artificial, like Lake Sequoyah in southeast Fayetteville. But the 50-year old reservoir is shrinking due to excess upstream sedimentation. So the city has started to clean it out using innovative technology.
The Fayetteville Natural Heritage Association recently adopted more than 30 acres of prairie near Lake Fayetteville and restored the brushy wooded area back to its native grassland state.
