The latest Talk Business-Hendrix college poll suggests that the two front-runners in this year's gubernatorial race are nearly tied, though a few percentage points could make a difference either way come November. And, the CEO of QualChoice says that the company's recent acquisition by a national health care company may mean more jobs for Arkansas.
Ahead on this edition of Weekend Ozarks, the sounds of Spring and Summer are lone without the chirps of frogs. We visit an area pond to hear what's hopping, and we celebrate the croaking amphibian in our Sunday morning montage.

Ahead on this edition of Ozarks, the National Veterans Golden Age Games are set to take over Fayetteville and the region this weekend; we speak with one 79-year-old Vietnam veteran who hopes to win in his competitions, and we speak with an Arkansas elder who decided to obtain his GED many, many years after his high school years had passed. Last January the U.S. Department of the Interior designated the White River Watershed as a National Blueway, the second river in the nation to be honored. The title recognizes and supports a new generation of watershed stewardship. But Jeannie Burlsworth, who runs the right-wing property rights group, “Secure Arkansas,” claims the Blueway Program is a covert government operation. Burlsworth has roused so much opposition, that the Arkansas Blueway initiative was forced to shut down.
