Today's edition of Ozarks at Large: Questions and answers about Fayetteville's new paid parking, a conversation with documentary filmmaker Josh Fox and a visit with Greg Moore about his art on discarded metal.The HBO documentary "Gasland," is a critique about America's burgeoning shale gas drilling industry. The film premiered at Sundance, last January, where it took the 2010 Sundance Special Jury Prize. Since then, writer and director Josh Fox has hosted public viewings of his film in places where shale gas drilling is occurring--including Arkansas. Jacqueline Froelich met with him during his visit to Fayetteville, August 19th, and brings us his story. "Gasland" will be released on DVD this December. Remember as a child, playing with your shadow in bright sunlight? Twisting and turning, casting it about? For two Fayetteville women, their shadows became grist for both a transcendental workshop held this summer and an art exhibit. "Me and My Shadow" a collaborative photo collection by Joy Caffrey and Amy Eversole will be on display at Crossover Arsaga's through August.

Congressman Tom Cotton and Mark Pryor traded verbal blows late last week as each addressed the Delta Grassroots Caucus, which held its annual meeting in Little Rock. Enrollment in the state's Private Option continued to grow last month, as evidenced by a new report released by the Arkansas Department of Human Services, and the University of Arkansas System moved forward with its future online university programs last week by hiring the school's first three employees.

Students begin to lose gains made throughout the academic year almost as soon as the final bell rings for summer vacation. An open forum tomorrow at the Jones Center in Springdale will address opportunities to keep students' minds active during out of school times.
