When the Federal Communications Commission opened up licensing opportunities for thousands of new independent low-power non-commercial FM radio stations in 2010, several dozen Arkansas groups applied. We’ll also get a small preview of some of the musicians heading to Fayetteville this summer for the fifth edition of the Fayetteville Roots Festival.
Roby Brock, from Talk Business Arkansas, looks back at a week that included new inductions to the Arkansas Business Hall of Fame and conversations about political tax plans.
The city of Springdale says it is prepared for more winter weather with restocked supplies of sand and salt, and long-range planning for dealing with roads slickened by winter storms. Governor Mike Beebe says that the repeated winter weather is hitting Arkansas farmers especially hard. And Allens Canning Co. has a new owner.

Last Tuesday, TheatreSquared hosted an artists’ forum at the Fayetteville Public Library for its upcoming production of “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Ozarks at Large’s Kyle Kellams moderated the event.
