We talk with Leo Villareal, the artist behind the first temporary outdoor installation at Crystal Bridges. Pat Ryan Key's alt-rock trio I Do Declare Is gaining attention from beyond northwest Arkansas and his acoustic solo acoustic performances are becoming more common, too. This week he came to the Firmin Garner Performance Studio.Bucky Ball, a geometric, LED sculpture by artist Leo Villareal, is the first temporary outdoor installation for the museum. The work gets its name from Buckminster Fuller, an architect who designed geodesic domes. Ozarks at Large’s Christina Thomas spoke with Villareal about this and other works.
The Devil’s Eyebrow, near Beaver Lake, is formally dedicated as a natural area tomorrow. The land is home to several native species not found anywhere else in Arkansas.
