Candy Lee will release her new CD "The Gate" later this month with a release party at Smoke and Barrel in Fayetteville. She let us listen to the CD early and performed in our studio as well.

Quinn Montana

Teaching Facebook
Social media websites like Facebook are no longer just a way for students to interact with classmates after class. Several businesses have now signed-up, logged in and are discovering ways to increase their audience all with a few strokes of a keyboard or clicks of the mouse. A new website created by two Fayetteville residents is offering tutorials for businesses new to the site.

The computer center at the Jones Center had it's official unveiling Aug. 5, after a grant helped pay for renovations. Ozarks at Large's Antoinette Grajeda was on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The city of Fayetteville ponders sharing the cost of adding a railroad crossing gate at Dickson Street in exchange for some needed easements for trails construction. The City of Bentonville aims to add more than a thousand trees to the landscape during October. And results from this year's Secchi Day at Beaver lake are helping officials with the Beaver Water District better understand the effects of drought and flood years on water quality.

Medicaid Expands in Arkansas

Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, a quarter of a million residents are eligible to enroll in free private health insurance made possible by the new Arkansas Healthcare Independence Program. Arkansas is the only state to expand Medicaid coverage via this "private option."
