A spokesman for Arkansas Secretary of State Mark Martin says that the office should be able to use outside counsel that questions the office's compliance with the state's Freedom of Information Act. Benton County officials continue to assess damage done by recent floods, with the cost of said damage estimated at $5 million and rising. The same rains that caused damage in Benton County has given a rare opportunity to floaters of the Buffalo River. And while yesterday's elections resulted in a runoff next month in Springdale, voters in Paris and Huntsville approved more taxes in their own cities.

Ahead on this edition of Ozarks, how the Children's House in Springdale is trying to help some of the most neglected and abused children in two northwest Arkansas counties. Plus, how a public forum tomorrow, also in Springdale, is designed to stimulate children's learning even when school is not in session.

The number of patient visits to the Northwest Arkansas Free Health Center has increased from two thousand in 2000 to more than eleven thousand in 2011. Now the center is moving to a new, larger space.

Patients at the Booneville Human Development Center have an important job to do. They make rugs as part of the center's Rugs Project, which brought in more than $8,000 through craft fair sales just last month.
A new program is being introduced at Bentonville Public Schools. The program puts bicycles in each of the district's elementary, middle and junior high schools.
