Though it may seem like a foreign concept to transplants to the region, natives of Washington County's rural areas still carry out the tradition of Decoration Day, on which families gather at cemeteries for fellowship and in honor of previous generations.

Youth Home serves thousands of teens from around the state annually and now has a bit more financial stability. Early next month the organization called the Military Order of the Purple Heart of the U.S.A. Inc. will hold its annual convention in Rogers. We talked to John Bircher, National Spokesman for the Military Order of the Purple Heart.

The Kids in Need Foundation has 27 warehouses around the country that allow teachers from qualified schools to shop for supplies for free. Work is underway to bring a 28th center to northwest Arkansas.

The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville has purchased a half interest in The Alfred Stieglitz Collection of Modern American and European Art owned for more than 60 years by Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. The collection will rotate between both institutions at two-year intervals.
