The State of Vegetation In 2100
One researcher at the University of Arkansas has been taking a look at what would happen to the planet's surface vegetation if greenhouse gas emissions continue at their current rate through the end of the century.
Making New Airwaves
When the Federal Communications Commission opened up licensing opportunities for thousands of new independent low-power non-commercial FM radio stations in 2010, several dozen Arkansas groups applied. In northwest Arkansas, Fayetteville Community Radio appears to have made the cut. We meet Joe Newman, station manager, and volunteers Olivia Hines and Moshe Newmark.

8) Kreskin, famed "mentalist" during the height of the ESp craze on TV. (OK, we're stretching it...)

10) Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros (soon to be seen at Wakarusa) sing Home.

Revisiting the 1927 Mississippi River Flood Through Fiction
"Tilted World" by Tom Franklin and Beth Ann Fennelly, both University of Arkansas graduates, takes readers inside a different era,when Prohibition was big business and foot travel was as likely as horse or car travel in rural Mississippi. The two will read from their novel Friday evening at Nightbird Books in Fayetteville.

Cherokee National Youth Choir

The Arkansas Chapter of the National Trail of Tears Association hosted "We Remember, " on September 11th at the Town Center in Fayetteville, to commemorate the forced removal of the Cherokees from their land base in the late 1830s. Jacqueline Froelich attended and brings us the story and sounds of the Cherokee National Youth Choir.
