The Fayetteville Public Schools’ Bookmobile is making an impact, through books, on young members of the community in an effort to combat summer learning loss. Catch up with them Monday, July 21 and again July 28 at the following locations:
- 9:30- Red Oak Park (Carlsbad/Boxley/Bridgeport Subdivision area off Wedington)
- 10:15- The Links at Wedington (at the roundabout in the middle of the complex)
- 11:00- Woodway Apartments (by the complex pool)
- 11:45- Crofton Manor off Mt. Comfort (on Hatterly Street)
- 12:10- Washington Plaza Apartments (Under a grove of trees towards the back entrance of the complex)
The Beaver Lake Sailing Club, headquartered near Lost Bridge, is not only a historic recreational club, the membership is engaged in numerous charitable events. Ahead on this edition of Ozarks at Large, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission makes strides towards the purchase of new land in Newton County in hopes of developing more of a presence in that area. Plus, portions of a sizable rewards grant are awarded to schools in perhaps an unlikely district. And we'll speak with members of the regional champion archery team to learn how they mark their anchors and more.
The bill would change the amounts awarded to students. The bill's sponsors say the change is necessary to keep the program viable, while opponents say that the plan is shortsighted.

A report released yesterday by Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families shows that Arkansas schools rely heavily on out of school suspensions, with many districts punishing minorities at a higher rate than white students, thus limiting their learning opportunities. Ozarks at Large's Christina Thomas spoke with Jerri Derlikowski, Director of Education Policy for AACF and author of the report.
