The Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation recently awarded this rural advocacy organization a $175,000. Rural Community Alliance will use a portion of the funds for a community revitalization project in Southeast Arkansas. The Arkansas Supreme Court is hearing a case regarding a man whose gay partner is prohibited from staying overnight when his 12 year old son is present, while Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel approves a potential ballot measure that would eliminate the amendment to the state constitution that bars same-sex marriage in the state. And a Mulberry elementary school is one of nine schools classified by the Arkansas Department of Education as "exemplary" in the department's annual school accountability report.
