Arkansas Marshall Islanders and dignitaries are gathering at the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock this evening to commemorate the 60th anniversary of “Castle Bravo”— a hydrogen bomb test conducted March 1st 1954 on Bikini Atoll. It was the largest nuclear weapon ever tested by the United States. The six-county Ozark Mountain Solid Waste District filed for bankruptcy in January on a landfill and hauling franchise it purchased nearly ten years ago in north Baxter County as a money-making venture. As Jacqueline Froelich reports, a state legislator has stepped forward to allocate special funding to safely seal the site. Congressman Tom Cotton and Mark Pryor traded verbal blows late last week as each addressed the Delta Grassroots Caucus, which held its annual meeting in Little Rock. Enrollment in the state's Private Option continued to grow last month, as evidenced by a new report released by the Arkansas Department of Human Services, and the University of Arkansas System moved forward with its future online university programs last week by hiring the school's first three employees.

An open forum tomorrow at the Jones Center in Springdale will address opportunities to keep students' minds active during out of school times.
