Ahead on this edition of weekend Ozarks, one local org is about seven days into a 20-day effort to find more big brothers for children in the area, and a daughter collaborates with her mother to write a book about what life was like in France before and during World War II.

The century-old national organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters, celebrates its 20th year in Northwest Arkansas this month. In honor of the anniversary and to fill a need, the organization has launched a 20 men in 20 days campaign.
Nicole Holland lived in Paris before, during and after World War II. She dictated the events of her remarkable life to her daughter, Brenda Hancock. Nearly 90 undergraduate students were awarded the Student Undergraduate Research Fellowship grants of up to $2,500 to conduct research. Joseph O'Neil is a senior majoring in horticulture in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences. His is the first in an Ozark at Large series of interviews with U of A Honor College students and their faculty mentors regarding the research work they've undertaken.
