A 4.2 mile long concrete barrier along I-540 just north of the Bobby Hopper Tunnel is experiencing extreme cracking. Researchers at the University of Arkansas are testing various treatments to see which can stop and prevent the cracking in an effort to save the wall.

The bill would change the amounts awarded to students. The bill's sponsors say the change is necessary to keep the program viable, while opponents say that the plan is shortsighted.

A report released yesterday by Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families shows that Arkansas schools rely heavily on out of school suspensions, with many districts punishing minorities at a higher rate than white students, thus limiting their learning opportunities.
