The 12th Annual Northwest Arkansas Soup Sunday benefiting Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families is this Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. in Springdale. OAL’s Christina Thomas spoke with Laura Kellams, director of the organization’s Northwest Arkansas office. Shawn James, a Chicago native, hasn't been in Fayetteville that long, but he's quickly become a staple of the local music community. He stopped by the Firmin-Garner Performance Studio recently to play some tunes with Mark McKinney, banjo, and Nick Shoulders, harmonica. Their cover of John Legend's "Who Did That to You," which was captured on video by Anna Hutchison of Spring Street Portraits, has already gone viral.

The Kids in Need Foundation has 27 warehouses around the country that allow teachers from qualified schools to shop for supplies for free. Work is underway to bring a 28th center to northwest Arkansas.

The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville has purchased a half interest in The Alfred Stieglitz Collection of Modern American and European Art owned for more than 60 years by Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. The collection will rotate between both institutions at two-year intervals.
