Eureka Springs Hospital is one of the tiniest and oldest in Arkansas, built in 1929. A for-profit medical facilities management firm, which leases the antiquated hospital wants to build a brand new facility on the outskirts of town. But to make it happen, the city of Eureka Springs will have to provide a major infusion of money.Becca says the Shiloh Museum's photo exhibit on medicinal springs in NWA is on display through December.

Ahead on this edition of Ozarks, the four men running for Arkansas governor weigh in on what they might do with the Private Option expansion if elected. And we hear from people trying to stop illegal dumping in counties across the region as well. We also hear comment from a ribbon cutting last night for a new stretch of trail in Fayetteville that will allow easier access to Mount Kessler and more.
Wayne Bell says theaters in the area already have a few strong movies on their screens, but several more are headed this way,
Northwest Arkansas' unemployment rate dropped in the month of September, and a state economist says that the area is the strongest-performing in the state. Also, a kickball tournament to be held later this week has already raised thousands for the NWA Children's Shelter, even before the first ball is rolled. And, AARP plans to offer defensive driving courses to veterans next month.

At least eleven public school districts in Arkansas now offer single-gender elementary classes, including Siloam Springs School District. We observe several of the classes and talk with educators and a scholar about the benefits as well as criticism regarding this school choice.
