As Jacqueline Froelich reports, while critics challenge organized industry interests that seek to weaken the new code’s foundation, market-driven experts are working to spackle the gaps.The Jones Center has plans to renovate some of its outdoor recreational facilities, while the city of Fayetteville has plans for expanding the city's trails network in 2014. "Tilted World" by Tom Franklin and Beth Ann Fennelly, both University of Arkansas graduates, takes readers inside a different era,when Prohibition was big business and foot travel was as likely as horse or car travel in rural Mississippi. The two will read from their novel Friday evening at Nightbird Books in Fayetteville.
If voters fail to approve an $85 rural ambulance fee, Siloam Springs will no longer respond to 911 calls in rural areas surrounding the city.

The Kids in Need Foundation has 27 warehouses around the country that allow teachers from qualified schools to shop for supplies for free. Work is underway to bring a 28th center to northwest Arkansas.

"Triple Jump" by It's a King Thing
The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville has purchased a half interest in The Alfred Stieglitz Collection of Modern American and European Art owned for more than 60 years by Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. The collection will rotate between both institutions at two-year intervals.
