The University of Arkansas is set to host the 2010 Advances in Breast Cancer Research Workshop October 25th through 29th. The workshop hopes to provide an opportunity to leading breast cancer researchers from disciplines such as biomagnetics, nanotechnology, microwave imaging and biochemistry, to focus and collaborate on "high risk-high gain" research. It is hard to imagine Eugene Sargent's mind or his hands ever rest. He is a sculptor and works with wood, metals, cement, and other materials. He creates furniture that is art and art that is furniture. He paints and draws. He writes. He makes computer cases out of aluminum and flashlights out of old tent poles. So it makes sense that his studio near Lincoln in Washington County is a pretty astonishing creation, too.
